Bretton Woods Recreation Center is hiring Outdoor Education Facilitators. This position will anticipate the member and guest needs and provide a safe and memorable experience. The Outdoor Education Facilitator will run family and friends adventure programs and adults-only offerings. These offerings include but are not limited to canoeing, hiking, stand up paddle boarding, ropes course, super-sized sling shots, and arts & crafts. The possible work hours for this position is mainly weekends. There is also the option to work additional weekdays during the year.
Essential Functions
Welcome participants and families at each program in a positive way
Work effectively as a team with other staff
Teach and facilitate the skills and procedures associated with each activity
Ensure that safety, fun, and education are the priorities for all events
Requirements
Strong communication skills
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, where change and improvement is always present
Ability to communicate efficiently with others that English is not their first language
Positive and fun attitude
CPR and First Aid certification preferred or willing to obtain
Must have reliable transportation. No public transportation is available
Physical Demands and Work Environment
Able to lift, carry, pull, and push up to 75 pounds
Work outdoors in all weather conditions
Comfortable working at heights
Comfortable in personal watercraft (tube, canoe, stand-up paddle board, and kayak)
