The Senior Quality Assurance Analyst should be an energetic and motivated professional, willing to join a software development team in which the nature of the work is highly focused on delivering quality results to support both our learner and employee populations. This individual will work in cooperation with business analysts, project managers, systems developers, and fellow quality assurance analysts to build and maintain business solutions to support Capella's corporate and financial systems teams, including Financial Aid, Student Finances, Human Resources and Finance Essential Duties Ability to act as QA lead for specific projects, coordinating work assignments for other QA team members, both onsite and offshore. Analyze requirements and use cases in order to create test strategies, test plans, test cases and test sets. Create and maintain test data. Develop, maintain and execute both manual and automated tests, primarily focused on functional, but also including some performance and load testing. Evaluate and document defects - including detailing the steps to reproduce the defect, assigning severity and assessing overall impact to users and other areas of the product. Ability to provide work direction to offshore QA team members on a daily basis. Mentor less experienced QA team members and continuously looks for ways to improve testing coverage and testing efficiency. Proactively provide input to improvements and enhancements to quality strategy, processes and procedures. Job Skills Must have intermediate to advanced experience querying SQL databases to verify results. Experience with PeopleSoft Campus Solutions, HCM, ELM or Finance is required. Demonstrated knowledge and proficiency in quality principles and best practices. Strong problem solving skills with the ability to think through multiple scenarios and outcomes. Thorough and detail oriented with excellent oral and written communication skills. Must be capable and comfortable multi-tasking between concurrent projects and tasks. Demonstrates initiative and is able to perform responsibilities with little supervision. Ability to quickly learn new business processes and software applications. Strong collaboration skills to effectively communicate and work cross-functionally with business and technical teams. Previous experience with automated testing tools and approach, such as PeopleSoft Test Framework is strongly desired. Experience with Project Management methodologies and tools desired (e.g., Scrum, Version One); experience in test effort estimation and tracking and leading projects of limited scope. Previous leadership experience desired. Experience working in a hybrid model of onsite and offshore testing is preferred Work Experience 5 years of experience in software testing Education Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution or an equivalent level of experience in computer science/information technology Certificates, licenses and registrations Other Must be able to travel 0-10 % of time. Must be able to lift 20lbs. Typical office setting. Mobility within the office including movement from floor to floor. Travel via plane, car, and metro may be required to perform this job. Must be able to work more than 40 hours per week when business needs warrant Access information using a computer. Effectively communicate, both up and down the management chain.
